A diamond is as unique as you are. The combination of its cut, colour, clarity and carat weight make up a diamond’s unique fingerprint, with no two diamonds being the same.

Sourced mainly from South African mines, a Shimansky diamond is polished to realise its true potential and is graded by international diamond laboratories such as the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) or the European Gemological Laboratory (EGL); or the Scientific Grading Laboratory (SGL).

Most diamonds larger than 0.5 carats are laser inscribed with a unique diamond identification number in letters no larger than a few micron on its girdle. This identification number and the diamond’s unique characteristics are recorded on a Certificate of Authenticity, assuring your diamond matches the diamond certificate and authenticity report (for life).

Should the characteristics of the diamond you purchased be different from the characteristics stated on your Certificate of Authenticity (or the diamond grading report), we will accept the return of your diamond and exchange it for another diamond of the same, or better, characteristics as stated on the certificate, free of charge.

If we cannot replace the diamond for you, we will refund the purchase price in full. This Shimansky Lifetime Diamond Guarantee is yours forever. This guarantee is void if the item was handled or repaired by another company; or in the event of accidental damage that can affect the diamond.

At Shimansky, only the purest platinum and fine gold are used in every Shimansky creation. We take care to ensure the best workmanship so that each creation is crafted to the Shimansky-standard. We therefore warrant all jewellery items will be free from any manufacturing defect at time of purchase.

We want you to enjoy your Shimansky jewellery creation for many years to come, and like other luxury products on the market, diamonds and jewellery require care and maintenance to keep them looking their best. As part of the Shimansky Lifetime Jewellery Warranty, you are required to have your diamond and tanzanite jewellery inspected at any Shimansky store every 6 months from the date of purchase, in order to maintain the validity of this warranty.

During the inspection your jewellery item will be examined free of charge. Any work due to manufacturing fault will be carried out free of charge. This excludes any fair wear or accidental damage. This warranty is void if another party conducts any work on your Shimansky piece.

With distribution offices in New York, Hong Kong, Tel Aviv and South Africa, Shimansky offers secure local, and international, shipping of all of our diamond and tanzanite jewellery for added convenience. For your peace of mind, all of our shipping options include Insurance. Items are shipped during business hours only for your security. Some countries are excluded due to their internal complications, please confirm that the item you would like to purchase can be shipped to your country before completing the transaction. Any shipping and local charges such as tax, VAT, custom duties and clearance charges are for your account.

We offer three shipping options:

If you choose to collect your jewellery purchase from any Shimansky store in South Africa, we will courier it free of charge. You will receive a call from your selected Shimansky store once your package has arrived, and you can collect it at your convenience during store hours.

We work with trusted safe-hands door-to-door couriers and can assist in obtaining courier quotations for our clients. Delivery to main centers across South Africa typically arrive the next day. If you live in an outlying area, shipping may take 2 – 3 days to arrive.

If you live in another country, we will ship your Shimansky purchase to you via International shipping options. Please contact us for a quote or more information. Whether you choose to collect your Shimansky purchase from a Shimansky store, or have it shipped directly to you, a Shimansky representative will contact you with an estimated delivery date. When you purchase jewellery from Shimansky, your satisfaction and assurance in making the right choice is important to us. If for any reason you are not entirely satisfied with your purchase, you may return it to us in its original condition, within 30 days from the date of purchase. The item will be inspected for refund authorization within 30 working days of receipt for a refund or exchange on the original purchase price. Please note: the item purchased must be delivered back to Shimansky at your cost. Any cost incurred in receiving the item will be deducted from the authorised refund. Returns are valid only on stock items and not bespoke items nor items with special finger sizing or where the item cannot be worn or used.

Q: Is it safe to ship my purchase to another country?
A: Yes. All of our shipping options are safe and secure and include insurance for your peace of mind. This is provided that your country allows the shipment of jewellery or diamonds.

Q: Can I have my purchase shipped to my door?
A: Yes. Please note we only ship to business addresses and not residential addresses (with the exception of the USA).

Q: Can someone else sign on my behalf for delivery of my purchase that has been shipped to me?
A: To protect your purchase, only the person whose name is reflected on the invoice will need to sign for the release of the purchase. Special arrangements may be made where we receive a copy of the ID and a letter from the purchaser authorising the acceptance.

Q: Is VAT included in shipping?
A: VAT is excluded from international shipping. Local shipping includes VAT. (VAT is referred to as South Africa Value Added Tax).

Q: How long will it take for me to receive my Shimansky purchase once it has been shipped?
A: This depends on your location. If you live in a main city center in South Africa, shipping is typically overnight. For outlying areas in South Africa, shipping may take 2 – 3 days to arrive. For international shipments, it generally takes approximately 8 – 10 days for you to receive your purchase (depending on customs clearance in the country the purchase is being cleared into). Please note: this excludes manufacturing lead times of the item.

Q: Are there any additional costs for international shipping?
A: You will need to pay customs and import duties for international shipping. Only once this fee has been paid will your parcel be released to you. Each country’s import duties are different, so please contact your customs office directly for more information.

Q: I purchased a diamond engagement ring but it is not to my fiancé’s tastes. Can we exchange it for a different engagement ring of the same value?
